We all know that Wuthering Heights that was written by Emily Bronte and was perhaps her only novel. The ill-fated relationship between the Heathcliff and Cathy, astonished many of their readers when the book was released. We now know about the story of the lovers on the English moor which is very much known and it is also iconic. Emily, along with her sisters Barnwell, Anne, and Charlotte spent their life in Haworth, Yorkshire. Emily was very much familiar with the wild landscape and she has also depicted in the Wuthering Heights. But today you can travel to many of the places that have been mentioned in the novel.

Branwell was not as successful as his sisters. He was a drug addict. Branwell has always been in the obscuration of his sisters and did not get his identification. But for a change this time, Branwell is in the limelight. There is a painting that is hanged in London in the National Portrait Gallery. This is the painting of the three sisters painted by Branwell. Though in the painting, we can see that a pillar separated the two sisters. But it was originally the painting of Branwell, which he replaced with a pillar. So we can see that Branwell was the black sheep of the Bronte family.  

The Truth About The Wuthering Heights

We know that the Bronte sisters are known for writing many famous novels like Wuthering Heights, the Tenant of Wild fell Hall, etc. But we know very little about Branwell that he too wanted to become a successful artist. But he died at the age of 31 due to excessive addiction to alcohol, opium, laudanum. Also, you will get to hear the conspiracy theory that it was Branwell who wrote his sister’s books for them. Though we might think that Branwell’s life was like a proto beat poet figure because he suffered for his art through his drinks and art. But hardy, some know the truth. Branwell led a very tragic life. His life was full of failures, abounding ambitions, and his unfulfilled dreams.

But now it is Branwell’s time. Though Branwell was a very precious child, yet he was considered to be intelligent. He also was short-tempered. He wanted to be a writer as well as an artist. It was due to this effective personality and his creative impulses that effected his sisters. His great creative writing and creative thinking must have had a significant influence on his sisters. He was also quite impressive and interesting. We know this because of his adventurous acts that are full of creativity.

Others have given it a more serious thought and have got to know that Branwell was very much involved in his sister’s work. Also, there was a long Branwellian movement. It is this movement that Branwell if not other novels, have surely written the wuthering heights.
