MK ULTRA was a secret CIA operation that began in the 1950s and continued in the 1960s. Involuntary citizens, military personnel and hospital patients were all used in various experiments relating to ‘mind control’ and ‘brainwashing.’
The Korean War (1950 – 1953) provided the material for the novel, film and series mash. It also renewed political and scientific interest in the issue of Mind Control. The US military personnel captured in the war, paraded in front of the television cameras denouncing their part in the war. This made them turn their backs on their beliefs and values thereby adopting communist principles.
The project came to the public’s attention in the mid-1970s. MK ULTRA was declassified in 1977 under the Freedom of Information request, when 20,000 documents were brought before the US Senate .
What makes this conspiracy theory true is the early investigations of the project that got affected by the head of the CIA then, Richard Helms . He ordered MK ULTRA documents to be destroyed in 1973 when he foresaw the potential political storm approaching.
MK Ultra started on 13th April 1953, under the directorship of Allen Dulles (Head of CIA) . However, it continued the work of the previous projects, like Project Paper Clip and Chatter.
Characteristic Features Of Mk Ultra
Employees, citizens, and various armed personnel took LSD, a hallucinogenic drug and kept under observations for assessment.
It was An attempt to create hypnotically induced anxieties, and increasing ability to learn and recall complicated written matter alongside studying hypnosis and polygraph examinations.
Hypnosis also increased the ability to observe and recall complex arrangements of physical objects and inducing anterograde and retrograde amnesia. Hence, they used hypnosis together with psychoactive drugs .
Moreover, in Canada, the MK ULTRA project funded the work of Donald Cameron. He worked with schizophrenic patients to define a scientifically based system for extracting information from resistant sources.
However, the KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation Manual, dated July 1963, was one of the outcomes of MK ULTRA.
Many documents of MK ULTRA had disappeared. This meant that almost anyone had made claims and allegations of the practical use of Mind Control technologies. In recent years, volunteers under ethical guidelines conducted another research. It cast doubt on the many uses of specific techniques as reliable tools for mass mind control. Those who seek to promote disinformation for whatever reason ignored the research.
There was no doubt that the mental processing resulting to human mind and behaviors was influenced and manipulated. Psychological traumas induced by intense physical-emotional situations resulted from the response of the mind and the personality exposed to an environment with PTSD, Stockholm Syndrome and Anxiety Disorder. The question is less of direct attempts at mind control but the degree to which brainwashing takes place without our knowledge.
Great care and a healthy degree of skepticism needed to play. This is when they considered any current conspiracy claim that was related to Mind Control and MK ULTRA.
